In Karnataka, pivotal strides are being made to bolster railway connectivity through significant track doubling projects. Despite challenges, progress updates reveal noteworthy advancements. The Yeshwanthpur-Channasandra and Baiyappanahalli-Channasandra projects, covering 48 km and 21.70 km respectively, have made strides, with completion rates of 25% and 55% respectively. South Western Railways is actively overseeing these initiatives, aiming to finalize tasks by December 2024. Additionally, works on the Baiyappanahalli-Hosur doubling project are underway, with expectations to complete sections by 2023-24. With a target completion date of December 2027, these projects signify a transformative leap in Karnataka’s railway infrastructure, promising enhanced connectivity and economic growth for the region.
