600 MW solar energy project at Omkareshwar dam | New projects from India

The Government of Madhya Pradesh plans to construct a floating 600 MW solar energy project at Omkareshwar dam on Narmada river in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh.The investment is estimated to be Rs.3,000 crore. The power generation will start by 2022-23. The floating panels will be installed covering approximately 2000 ht of water area in Khandwa district. Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company has agreed to purchase 400MW of energy generated by the floating solar project.
