Assam Chief Minister had recently inaugurated the Arya Nagar Flyover in Guwahati, stretching across a length of 790 meters. The flyover was built at a cost of Rs 149.07 crore. The work was completed in 19 months in place of the original completion period of 30 months. The new flyover will ease traffic congestion in the commercially busy area. The other projects in Guwahati include one a 4-km long flyover at Maligaon, and another one at Zoo Road. The work is going on in full swing and both the flyovers are likely to be commissoned by next year.The state government proposes to build another flyover project between Dighalipukhuri and Bamunimaidan which would be nearly 6-km long.
