The Water Resources Department (WRD) will soon begin construction to channel 55 million cubic meters (MCM) of water from the Isarda dam in Sawai Madhopur district, Rajasthan, to restore the dried-up Ramgarh lake in Alwar district. The water will be drawn from Rajasthans allocated share of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), which provides the state with 4,102.6 MCM of water, including 1,744.1 MCM earmarked for drinking purposes. The detailed project report (DPR) has been finalized.
