Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth approximately Rs 7,300 crore in Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, on February 11, 2024. These projects aim to enhance water supply, urban infrastructure, and transportation in the state. Notably, the Talavada Project, a drinking water supply scheme for over a thousand villages in Dhar and Ratlam, along with 14 urban water supply schemes under AMRUT 2.0, were initiated to benefit more than 50,000 households. Additionally, the Nal Jal Yojna for 50 Gram Panchayats of Jhabua will provide tap water to approximately 11,000 households. Railway projects include the redevelopment of Ratlam and Meghnagar railway stations under the Amrit Bharat station scheme, and improvements in rail infrastructure such as the doubling of the Indore-Dewas-Ujjain C cabin railway line, Itarsi-North-South grade separator, and the third line connecting Barkhera-Budni-Itarsi. Moreover, road development projects worth over Rs 3,275 crore, including four-laning of key highways and sections, were inaugurated, aimed at enhancing connectivity and promoting economic growth in the region.
