The Alappuzha marina-cum-cargo port project in Kerala, will be developed by the Centre by integrating it in the Sagarmala programme. The envisioned marina would be equipped to handle cargo ships, superyachts, and cruise ships. The Sagarmala programme includes four Alappuzha tourism projects with a total projected cost of Rs 255.35 crore. They include the construction of a maritime museum as part of the Alappuzha Heritage Project costing Rs 250 crore, and the creation of different facilities at the lighthouses in Manakkodam, Alappuzha, and Valiyazheekal.
