The Uttar Pradesh government and Zurich Airport International inked a concession deal on October 7, 2020, to build the Noida international airport close to Jewar at an estimated cost of Rs 29,560 crore. The Swiss company received 1,334 hectares of land from the state government in July 2021 for phase-1 construction. For phase-2 development on the Noida airport near Jewar, the government of Uttar Pradesh is in the process of acquiring 1,181 hectares of land in six villages in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district. Over a 4,752 hectare area, the airport will be completed in four phases. The first phase of the project will be operational by September 2024.
