With a USD 25 million investment, EV manufacturer Omega Seiki Mobility is building a retrofit plant near Chandigarh to convert internal combustion engine (ICE)-powered automobiles into electric vehicles. The facility is anticipated to be operational by the third quarter of FY2022-23. Small and light commercial vehicles will be the first to use the facility for retrofit, while buses and larger vehicles will be added gradually after that.
