Government of India
Over the next five years, the Centre hopes to facilitate the establishment of 50-70 vehicle scrapping facilities and 75 automated testing stations. The government wants to minimise pollution, increase tax income, and ensure that the automobile industry grows, exports rise, and jobs are created. Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, has announced that autonomous vehicle testing for large commercial vehicles will begin in April 2023, and for other vehicles in June 2024.
