The first high-horsepower electric locomotive from Indian Railways’ new Dahod plant in Gujarat is expected to be launched in April. Railway Minister Vaishnaw recently inspected the prototype, which is undergoing multiple testing phases. These locomotives are designed for deployment on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, aiming to boost the average train speed to 50-60 kmph, enhancing freight efficiency and railway logistics.
