Brookfield Asset Management has sold its 1.6 GW portfolio of solar and wind assets in India to Gentari Renewables India in a two-phase deal. The first phase, involving 1 GW of operating assets, is complete. This marks Brookfield’s first full-cycle portfolio monetization in India’s renewable sector. The sale, approved by the Competition Commission of India, includes Brookfield’s stake in 21 SPVs linked to TerraForm, Axis, Electryone, NTPC, and NHPC projects. Brookfield retains a global renewable portfolio of 46 GW in installed capacity and 200 GW under development.
