Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (JPDCL) and the Kashmir Distribution Corporation Ltd (KPDCL) are going to implement the smart metering project. Six lakh smart and prepaid meters would be installed across J&K through RECPDCL, as part of Under the smart metering project. As of now, two lakh smart meters are being installed in Jammu and Srinagar under the Prime Minister’s Development Programme (PMDP).
