CEAT, a prominent tyre major, has unveiled ambitious plans for a capital expenditure (capex) of Rs 750 crore in the financial year 2025. This investment will primarily facilitate capacity expansion at its Chennai plant, along with other expansion initiatives. Out of the total capex, Rs 250 crore is allocated for routine plant maintenance, while Rs 500 crore is earmarked for growth-oriented initiatives. Notably, CEAT is currently in the midst of expanding its truck and bus radial (TBR) tyre production capacity at its Chennai plant to 45,000 tyres per month. The company also intends to establish a new greenfield plant dedicated to TBR tyres, leveraging existing land resources. Furthermore, the capex plan includes enhancing the production capacity of agri-radial tyres at the Ambernath plant in Maharashtra to 160 tonnes per day.
