The Government of Delhi has unveiled an engineered landfill site in southeast Delhi’s Tehkhand, dedicated to the scientific disposal of solid waste. Covering an area of 15.47 acres, the garbage disposal facility was constructed at a cost of Rs 42.31 crore, with support from IIT-Delhi. This engineered landfill site is poised to mitigate the accumulation of garbage heaps and streamline the disposal of ash generated from waste-to-energy plants.
