The government has undertaken fourteen rail projects aimed at improving coal evacuation, with five rail lines already commissioned and others progressing at various stages of construction. To address the growing demand for coal transportation, the Ministry of Coal has launched the Coal Logistics Policy and Integrated Coal Evacuation Plan. This comprehensive strategy involves the construction of new railway lines, capacity augmentation of the railway network, First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects, Rail Connectivity projects, and Railway Sidings, aligning with long-term production projections. Moreover, the Ministry of Railways is spearheading initiatives such as Green Energy Corridor Projects, High-density network projects, and Rail Sagar projects, while also promoting coastal shipping and inland waterways for coal evacuation.
