Organization: Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA)
MMRDA has commenced work on the second tunnel for Line 7A, extending the operational Line 7 (Andheri East-Dahisar East) to link Andheri East and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). Line 7A aims to provide direct connections to Metro 9 (Mira-Bhayander) and the western suburbs (Metro 2A and 7). The second Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), T-60, has initiated its drive on this project, expected to complete its initial phase within a month and the entire tunneling by June 2024.
