CCEA Approves Green Energy Corridor Phase-II for 13 GW Renewable Project in Ladakh

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has granted approval for Green Energy Corridor Phase-II, which focuses on the Inter-State Transmission System for a massive 13 gigawatt renewable energy project in Ladakh. The project, designed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, includes a 12 GWh Battery Energy Storage System in Pang, Ladakh. The Power Grid Corporation will manage the project, implementing advanced technology like Voltage Source Converter-based High Voltage Direct Current and Extra High Voltage Alternating Current systems. The Green Energy Corridor aims to be completed by FY 2029-30, with an estimated cost of ?20,773.70 crore and 40% central financial assistance, equivalent to ?8,309.48 crore.
