Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL)
KPCL proposes 2,000 MW pumped storage hydel power system on Sharavathi river. The project envisages using Talakalale as the upper reservoir and Gerusoppa as the lower dam. The completion will take five years. The state energy department is awaiting approval from the central government for its detailed project report (DPR) in this regard.
