The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has initiated the bidding process for the installation and commissioning of grid-connected solar power systems for 1,000 agricultural pumps under Component C1 of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program. The project aims to promote renewable energy usage in the agricultural sector and enhance the sustainability of farming practices.
Interested bidders are required to submit their proposals, and the selected contractor will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the solar power systems for a period of five years from the date of commissioning. The deadline for bid submissions was June 15, 2023, with the opening of bids scheduled for the following day.
The estimated cost of the project is ?600 million, highlighting the significant investment being made to bolster renewable energy infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to promoting clean energy solutions and driving agricultural progress through sustainable practices.
