With Adani Power Limited, Haryana discoms had entered into two power purchase agreements (PPAs) totaling 712 MW each, both dated August 7, 2008, at a levelized rate of Rs 2.94 per unit for 25 years, in order to purchase a total of 1,424 MW of contracted capacity from the Mundra power project in Gujarat. Since September 2021, APL had stopped supplying electricity on the grounds that it was incurring losses as a result of rising operating costs brought on by an increase in the amount of imported coal. It demanded that the PPA and associated concerns be renegotiated. The Haryana State Cabinet has recently approved a supplementary power purchase agreement with Adani Power Limited.
