In its budget for 2022-23, the Maharashtra government has set aside INR 5,244 crore to upgrade health infrastructure, develop dedicated facilities for women and newborns, and build India’s first hospital complex, Indrayani Medicity, in Pune, which will cover 300 acres. In Hingoli, Yavatmal, Buldhana, Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, Sindhudurg, Wardha, Bhandara, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Dhule, Solapur, Ratnagiri, Aurangabad, and Raigad, the state will build 100-bed facilities for mothers and babies.
