The Department of Chemicals and Petro-Chemicals is launching a scheme to establish Plastic Parks under the New Scheme of Petrochemicals, aimed at promoting sustainable plastic manufacturing and recycling. The scheme will provide grants of up to ?40 crore per project to support the development of infrastructure in cluster-based industrial zones. These parks are expected to boost investment in the plastics sector and improve recycling capabilities. Ten parks have already been approved, and state governments are encouraged to submit proposals for additional parks, further strengthening India’s plastic processing and recycling infrastructure.
