The General Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram one of the oldest healthcare institutions in the state of Kerala, is set for a major upgrade with the construction of a ?207 crore super-speciality block. Funded by KIIFB, the five-storey facility will replace 12 old structures from the Travancore era. Hospital authorities have begun relocating existing facilities to renovated spaces, though some medical wards, including Ward 7 and the surgical ward, are yet to be moved.
