The Andhra Pradesh government has earmarked 99.8 acres for Phase 1 of the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project, with land acquisition costs estimated at ?882 crore. Of this, 47 acres belong to the state government, 36 acres to Visakhapatnam Port, four acres to Indian Railways, three acres to the central government, and nine acres are privately owned. Phase 1 of the metro will span 46.23 km with 42 stations.
