An Inland Waterways Terminal (IWT) has been inaugurated at Jogighopa in Assams Bongaigaon district to enhance trilateral trade between India, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. Strategically located 91 km from Gelephu in Bhutan, 108 km from the India-Bangladesh border, and 147 km from Guwahati, the terminal will serve as a key hub for regional connectivity. The facility was dedicated to the nation by the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways in the presence of Bhutan’s Minister of Industries, Commerce, and Employment, Lyonpo Namgyal Dorji.
