Bengaluru’s ?19,000 Crore Tunnel Road DPR Finalized

The Karnataka government has finalized the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a major tunnel road project to alleviate traffic congestion in Bengaluru. The dual tunnel road, spanning 40 kilometers, will connect Hebbal flyover to Silk Board junction through an 18-kilometer tunnel and KR Puram to Mysore Road via a 22-kilometer tunnel. Managed by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the ?19,000 crore project is set to undergo significant expenditure, with BBMP actively seeking a loan for funding. Once completed, the project is expected to significantly reduce travel time, ease traffic bottlenecks, and provide long-term solutions for Bengaluru’s growing transportation needs.
