The National River Conservation Directorate (NRCD) has approved the construction of sewage treatment plants to prevent untreated sewage from polluting the Noyyal River. The project, initiated by the district administration, aims to treat sewage from various town panchayats and village areas along the river. Once operational, these plants will serve nine town panchayats, including Irugur, Sulur, Kannampalayam, and Vellalore, ensuring cleaner water flow through the Coimbatore Corporation region and reducing pollution.
