SJVN Commissions 90 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project

SJVN Limited has successfully commissioned its 90 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, executed by its subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL). This project, part of India’s largest floating solar park, increases SJVN’s total installed capacity to 2,466.50 MW. Developed at a cost of Rs. 646.20 crores, it is expected to generate 196.5 million units of energy in its first year and 4,629.3 million units over 25 years. The project, which will reduce carbon emissions by 2.3 lakh tons, supports India’s net zero carbon emission goal by 2070 and helps in water conservation by reducing evaporation. The power purchase agreement is set for 25 years at a tariff of Rs. 3.26 per unit. SJVN’s total project portfolio now stands at 56,802.40 MW, encompassing various energy sectors.
