Vijayawada-Hyderabad Highway Set for Six-Lane Upgrade as NHAI Ends Contract with GMR Infra

The Centre has approved the upgrade of the Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway from four lanes to six lanes. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has terminated its contract with current maintenance contractor GMR Infra nearly a year ahead of schedule to facilitate the highway expansion. Fresh tenders will soon be issued to commence the six-lane enhancement project, aimed at improving connectivity and traffic efficiency on this vital route.
