The Railway Ministry has sanctioned an 8.11 km-long flyover at Titilagarh junction station under the Sambalpur division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) to streamline train operations and ease traffic congestion. The Rs 183.89-crore project aims to address the increasing train traffic and congestion on the Raipur-Vizianagaram, Titilagarh-Sambalpur, and Sambalpur-Raipur railway sections. Currently, Titilagarh Junction faces significant constraints affecting train movement, with 38 cross movements per day, as per the 2023-24 line capacity statement. The proposed flyover will provide dedicated infrastructure for trains from and to Vizianagaram, Raipur, and Sambalpur directions at Titilagarh without crossing other lines, thus enhancing operational efficiency and reducing delays.
