REC Signs Rs.1,869 Crore Agreement with CVPPPL for Kiru Hydro Electric Project

REC Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, will provide financial assistance of Rs. 1,869.26 crore to Chenab Valley Power Project Private Limited (CVPPPL) for the development, construction, and operation of the 4×156 MW Kiru Hydro Electric Project on the Chenab River in district Kishtwar of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The project, part of a joint venture between NHPC and JKSPDC, aims to harness the hydro potential of the region and includes several other hydroelectric projects. The Project envisages construction of 135 m high Dam and an underground Power House with 4 units of 156 MW each.
