In March 2024, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) disclosed the outcomes of its auction for the development of pilot projects involving 250 MW/500 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects, phase II. Gensol Engineering secured 70 MW/140 MWh, with a bid of Rs 448,996 per MW per month, while Indigrid 2 secured 180 MW/360 MWh, quoting Rs 449,996 per MW per month. These projects, part of a tariff-based global competitive bidding process initiated subsequent to a tender released in November 2023, are slated for implementation in Gujarat.
