Adani Group is set to invest over Rs 2,500 crore in Uttarakhand, with plans to expand cement plant capacity, install smart electricity meters, and explore the development of aero-city and knowledge city in the state of Uttarakhand. The announcement was made during the ‘Global Investors Summit – Uttarakhand.’ The group’s city gas joint venture aims to convert 200 state transport businesses to eco-friendly CNG. In the cement sector, investments exceeding Rs 1,700 crore will be directed towards expanding Ambuja Cements’ capacity, with additional funds allocated for plant capacity expansion and a grinding unit. These initiatives are expected to generate around 6,000 job opportunities in the Rishikesh-Dehradun area. The group is also involved in a project to install smart meters in the Kumaon region and is exploring a 1,000-acre land parcel in Pant Nagar for potential development, including infrastructure for an aero-city, container depot, logistics warehousing, and a knowledge park. Adani’s presence in Uttarakhand spans gas distribution and cement manufacturing.
