The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has unveiled plans to establish the Bharat Semiconductor Research Centre next year in collaboration with industry experts and academia. Operating in a public-private partnership (PPP) mode, the research facility will emerge as a global institution dedicated to semiconductor research. The decision follows the report submitted by the India Semiconductor R&D Committee, comprising officials, industry experts, and academicians, underscoring the nation’s commitment to advancing semiconductor technology.
