The double line between Dhupdhara and Bamunigaon railway stations in the state of Assam has been commissioned, following the successful statutory inspection conducted by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS)/NF Circle, Suvomoy Mitra, on October 17. This newly laid second line is expected to enhance the capacity for carrying both freight and passenger traffic along this route. The Dhupdhara – Bamunigaon section, spanning 25.459 kilometers, is a crucial part of the New Bongaigaon – Kamakhya via Goalpara 176 km double line project. The section includes various infrastructure improvements, such as bridges, station buildings, and railway quarters, aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of the railway system in the region.
