SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN Limited, has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) to develop an 18 MW solar power project. The project is scheduled for commissioning by August 2024 and will be situated on land parcels owned by BBMB in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. In its first year of operation, the project is expected to generate 39.42 million units (MU) of energy, with an estimated cumulative energy production of around 917 MU over a 25-year period.
