Cement companies are poised to increase their green power mix to 40-42% by FY25, up from 35% in FY23, resulting in anticipated savings of 140-160 basis points due to reduced energy expenses. As part of their commitment to sustainability, major cement players aim to reduce emissions by 15-17% over the next 8-10 years by favoring blended cement, which uses less clinker and, consequently, less fuel. This strategy involves a shift towards incorporating solar, wind, and Waste Heat Recovery System (WHRS) capacities to bolster their green energy intake, as highlighted in an Icra Ratings report.
