Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) has entered into a loan agreement with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for a waste-to-energy project in Karnataka, with a loan amount of JPY 1.85 billion. This agreement is part of JBIC’s JPY 30 billion long-term facility provided to PFC. The funds will support the 11.5 MW waste-to-energy initiative by KPC Gas Power Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of Karnataka Power Corporation Limited. The project, located in Bidadi, Karnataka, aims to utilize 600 tpd of segregated municipal solid waste for energy generation through incineration, using moving grate technology from Hitachi Zosen India Private Limited.
