K-RIDE has proposed a 452-km extension of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP) to the Railways Ministry. This Phase 2 expansion aims to connect nearby cities and towns to Bengaluru, enhancing regional connectivity and improving commuting options. The proposal covers multiple corridors, with distances ranging from 23 km to 125 km. Once approved, K-RIDE will conduct a pre-feasibility study to assess the project’s viability and impact. The extended rail project is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and provide better transportation for residents. Phase 1 of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project is already underway.
