Japanese tech conglomerate NTT plans to increase its data center capacity by 70% to 348 MW by the end of FY24. This expansion will involve doubling its Indian locations, with a focus on catering to OTT services, domestic companies in sectors like banking, manufacturing, and automotive, as well as hyperscalers. This expansion follows the launch of a hyperscale data center in Chennai and an inaugural subsea cable system in India connecting Malaysia, India, Singapore, and Thailand. NTT has data centers in 16 locations, including Mumbai and Bengaluru, and plans to expand into tier II cities, including a new campus in Kolkata set to go live soon.
