Project News | Project Update | Project Opportunities

The Indian government has achieved a significant milestone in bolstering the nation’s transportation infrastructure by inaugurating 48 Gati Shakti Multi-modal Cargo Terminals (GCTs) by the end of June 2023. Union railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared this update, revealing that among these, five GCTs are located in Jharkhand – specifically at Patratu, Sindri, Godda, Pakur, and Thaparnagar.

The Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal (GCT) policy forms the framework for these developments, aiming to attract private sector investments for cargo terminal advancements. This policy encourages the active involvement of private entities, organizations, and companies in establishing these terminals. To ensure timely execution, Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal Operators are mandated to complete construction within 24 months from the grant of in-principle approval.
