Bengaluru Metro Proposes Three New Metro Lines for Expansion

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has submitted a proposal for the construction of three additional metro lines, totaling approximately 77 km, to expand the city’s metro network. The proposed lines include a 17-km route from Whitefield to Hoskote, a 35-km Inner Ring Road line, and a 25-km line from Old Airport Road to Kadugodi via Marthahalli. The BMRCL has also submitted proposals for the JP Nagar to Kempapura and Hosahalli to Kadabgere Metro lines as part of Phase-3, while a detailed project report for Phase-3A, connecting Sarjapur and Hebbal, is currently being prepared. The expansion aims to enhance connectivity in both the city and its outskirts.
