ITI Limited, a government-owned telecommunications equipment manufacturer, has recently installed a 1 MW solar power plant at its Palakkad plant in Kerala. The project comprises 2,700 solar panels spread over an area of 5 acre of land. The plant is expected to generate approximately 15 lakh units of electricity per year.
