India’s first cable-stayed bridge, the Anji Khad bridge connecting Katra and Reasi in Jammu and Kashmir, has successfully completed installation of all 96 cables within a record time of 11 months. This significant development marks an important link in the Indian Railways’ mission to provide all-weather rail connectivity between Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country. The bridge connects Katra and Reasi via tunnels T2 and T3 on the Katra-Banihal section.
