Voltas plans to setup a compressor plant near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The company has received 150 acres from the state government in this regard. The project is planned to be executed in partnership with China’s Highly International. The government clearance is still awaited in this regard. The project will be taken up under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme. So far it is stuck as the Press Note 3 and PLI approvals are pending.
