In the Union Budget for 2022–2023, a new scheme called the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for the North East Region (PM–DevINE) was introduced. On October 12, 2022, the Cabinet gave its approval to the PM-DevINE Plan. It is a Central Sector Programme with a total budget of Rs. 6,600 crore for the four years between 2022–2023 and 2025–2026.
