With a bid of Rs 5,069 crore, Adani Group wins the Dharavi Redevelopment Project in Mumbai. Nearly 58,000 families reside in Dharavi, which also has 12,000 commercial establishment. The bid is for the full project, which will cost Rs 20,000 crore and take seven years to complete in order to rehabilitate the 6.5 lakh slum inhabitants who currently occupy a 2.5 sq km area. The selected bidder will need to create a special purpose vehicle (SPV) in order to carry out the project in accordance with the bid requirements.
