Chennai Metro Rail Limited has awarded a contract to French rolling stock maker Alstom for the design, construction, and commissioning of 78 advanced metro coaches. Between Poonamallee Bypass and Light House, a 26 km line that is a part of Phase-II, these new metro vehicles will run, stopping at 28 stations (18 elevated and 10 underground).
