Afcons Infrastructure Limited
The Mahatma Gandhi Setu is India’s first balanced cantilever bridge, which has been dismantled and rebuilt as a simple supported structure. The bridge’s rehabilitation work began in 2017, and the western flank was completed in 2020. In June, the 5.6-kilometer bridge will be completely operational. This would be the longest steel bridge in India. The bridge spans the Ganga River and links Patna with Hajipur. The project was awarded to the Afcons Infrastructure, and Submit OJSC combine.
