Tata Motors incorporates subsidiary for electric vehicles segment

Tata Motors Limited (TML) has established a wholly owned subsidiary for urban mass mobility called ‘TML Smart City Mobility Solutions Limited’ (TSCMSL) with an initial capital of INR 5 crore. The company plans to focus on its Electric Vehicles (EV) sector as a service offering across its commercial vehicle portfolio. “TSCMSL will cater to all commercial prospects across passenger mobility applications, in addition to the existing State Transport Undertakings (STUs) and government fleets,” Tata Motors stated in a regulatory filing. The company currently has over 650 electric buses on the road in India, covering more than 35 million kilometre, and has operationalized over 250+ electric buses in FY22.
